One of my favorite type of blog posts is a round-up of a blogger’s current list of “favorites”. It introduces me to new clothing, make-up, beauty products, jewelry, TV shows, books, music, lotions, websites, random things, etc.
So it’s time to talk about a few of my current favorites…
This dogeared necklace. A few years ago I got both of my sisters (and myself) this matching necklace. For the past few months I have had it on, and I just never take it off. I sleep in it, wear it in the shower, and wear it with other jewelry even. I find that it’s an extremely simple and delicate necklace that always adds to an outfit.
My face lotion. It embarrasses me to even say how much this stuff costs (it should be laced with gold) but it really has been well worth the money. A little goes a long way so the tubes last me about 4-5 months. I tried it out after getting a small little tube in my birchbox and immediately fell in love. It’s light –and it moisturizes without the greasy feeling and has a slight citrus clean smell to it that I love. Since using it in April, I have had hardly any breakouts, people comment that I’m “glowing” and the one time I got a facial the woman commented on how young and healthy my skin looked.
This chap-stick/lip gloss with SPF. It smells and tastes like fruity pebbles, it gives my lips a sheen and moisturizes without adding color and without smelling like medical chap-stick. It’s my favorite every day lip wear.
Fresh Thai ginger salmon from Whole Foods. Once a week the Husband and I splurge and get two slightly overpriced pieces of their Thai ginger salmon. But it’s worth the money. It is so fresh (I’m picky about fishy fish), has delicious flavor and it’s the easiest week night meal. Throw it in the oven alongside some asparagus and we’re good to go.
Sitting down to dinner at the table and saying grace. This sounds really cheesy, but the Husband and I have made a point of sitting at the table to eat dinner together (when we are both actually home) in our new place. Last night as we sat down to our Thai ginger salmon dinner, my Husband jokingly said, let’s say grace. So we did. We took a moment, held hands, and just said a big thank you for having each other, healthy family and friends, and that moment. That was my highest and happiest moment yesterday, one that still makes me smile today.
Coffee with cinnamon. Recently when I get my morning coffee from Starbucks or ABP or wherever (yeah way too much $$$ goes to coffee), I have been adding about two shakes of cinnamon. It gives it a slight Fall taste that I love.
Harvest Yankee Candle. Ok so I am totally a “I love Fall in New England, bring on the boots, crisp weather and apple/pumpkin everything” and if you’re similar, you’ll love this smell. It’s like spicy crisp Fall in a jar, and with the Summer ending it’s my favorite candle to have burning around the house.
HumansofNY on instagram. Each day this photographer posts pictures of people throughout NY and a little snippet of their conversation. Sometimes it’s advice, sometimes it’s an answer to a question, sometimes it’s just what they are doing. Somehow though, each picture resonates in a way that makes you really think…or cry. I love it.
These four songs. These definitely aren’t my normal peppy workout songs – but I love hearing them while driving or working.
