Okay I know an apple a day keeps the doctor away. If I eat 5 today will that heighten my chances? I haven’t slept well in nights and this morning my immune system has taken a leave of absence and now I have a scratchy throat and an achy body. I will not get sick.
Anyway, I had dinner with my sorority roommate from college last night. We have lived in the same city for years now and honestly have only seen each other a handful of times each year. I don’t know how that happens. But we had such a nice night catching up and it reminded me how much I miss her!
I’m loving having dinner plans with a friend during the work week. When I used to have night classes and then would have the gym the other nights it would make work week meetups almost impossible. But now I have learned that having 1 work week gettogether is so much fun to look forward to. Plus it allows for me to get more quality time with 1-2 friends since on weekends I tend to see my girlfriends in larger groups.
I’m feeling GREAT about speedwork. I can’t believe the difference it has made in my running. My “comfortable” pace has gone up .3-.5 miles an hour which for me is huge! Now I just need to get myself to spinning more often.
SO what’s left on my goal list since February is coming to a FAST end:
Original Feb Goals:
Go on one dateBuy new running sneakersLose 3lbsMy weight is fluctuating so much lately but I have definitely lost 1-2lbs (in addition to water weight). I’d like to get back down to my feel great weight though.Travel one weekendSee my familySpent an amazing weekend with all of them- Go to one morning gym class (…like spinning at 6am)
Go to a concertRead 1-2 books- If I get upset, angry or miscommunicate with someone – I need to use these tactics
Appreciate the blogging community. You all are the bestI truly feel this way daily but around my 1 year mark I really realized it.
Ha, so in just a few days I need to go to a buttcrack of dawn workout class, read 2 books and then pick a fight with someone so I can use my healthy tactics to solve it. 😛
there must be something in the atmosphere or planetary alignment keeping us from sleeping because i’ve heard from so many that the last few nights have been restless ones. and it definitely wrecks havoc on the immune system! when i feel anything coming on i am an airborne junkie! i know there is no proof that it actually wards off germs but i haven’t been sick in years and i used to get sinus infections twice a year religiously not to mention whatever bug my daughter would bring home from school. in fact given my own insomnia as of late and the fact that i have a race in three days you just prompted me to add a packet to my water.
i think you’ve done a pretty good job on hitting those february goals. get in the morning gym class and then let the other two go.
Haha the way you feel about airborne is the way I feel about Emergen-C! I just had two packets in water. I’ve never tried airborne but I just might today, I will do anything to ward off being sick.
I hope whatever is going on to make so many of us not sleep stops so that the next few nights are restful, peaceful sleeps.
I think you’re right about letting the other two go on my goals list. I might even count my 9:30am spin class on Saturday as my “morning gym class”. 😉
9:30 a.m. is well before noon so it definitely counts! check that one off! then maybe go to barnes and noble and read a couple kids books 😉
Yes, especially on weekends!
Ha, you just made me realize, that technically I have read 2 books this month with my 1st grader. Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Goosebumps definitely count! 🙂
check, check! look at that. now you’re down to just one and technically you can’t say you didn’t achieve it because you prefaced it with an “IF”. and since you haven’t gotten upset or angry you haven’t had to use those tactics. so i’d say february is a win!
I also heart work week dinners with friends. Great job on the Feb goals!
